Early Seger, Vol. 1

Early Seger, Vol. 1

Many Bob Seger albums have long been out of print, especially the earliest ones. So any chance to obtain his music is valuable. This collection is designated “early,” but it’s a combination of songs from early albums such as Back in ’72, Smokin O.P.’s, and Seven and outtakes from Seger’s 1986 album Like a Rock (and even a rerecorded version of “Long Song Comin’,” a tune that first appeared on Seven). Seger’s versions of Gregg Allman’s “Midnight Rider” and Tim Hardin’s “If I Were a Carpenter” demonstrate why he was long figured for worldwide stardom.
