Breathe Out, Breathe In (feat. Colin Blunstone & Rod Argent)

Few groups have had a more misleading band name than The Zombies. Their music had nothing to do with gory horror-movie imagery (which many other rock bands took up in the following decades). Instead, The Zombies made sensuous '60s mainstream pop that survives on classic rock radio with "She's Not There," "Tell Her No," and "Time of the Season." Colin Blunstone went on to a respected solo career, while Rod Argent led the '70s-styled Argent. Hardcore Zombies fans rightfully obsess over 1968's incorrectly spelled masterpiece Odessey & Oracle. And over the years, Blunstone & Argent have performed together as themselves and as The Zombies, with similar results. This 2011 album has gone in and out of release. It features a handful of songs that recall the beauty of their vintage work. "Play It for Real" adds a guitar lick close in spirit to The Beatles' "Hey Bulldog." The title track reflects the overt sexual tension of their old hits.
